Entering the Tomb of the Patriarchs. The structure was built by Herod the Great and remains largely intact, just the way he built it. The tomb complex is divided between a mosque and a synagogue. The synagogue is off limits to non-Jews. The tomb complex is the undisputed last resting place of Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Rebecca, Jacob (or Israel), Leah, and Joseph. All of their graves are marked but only a few can be seen from the Muslim portions of the facility.
